The Set-up

Especially Puglia is a small family-owned company looking to change where you source your Italian ingredients by continuing a long-time farm-to-table tradition. Especially Puglia started as a brand known for their olive oils and distributing to very high end Italian restaurants across the globe. As a result of focusing on developing their online presence, the company and brand grew and farmers began asking for more business. Epecially Puglia is transforming from a single product company into a full service experience, providing everything the southern Italian region has to offer, beyond just olive oil.

Wirewax is the world’s first interactive video platform, turning videos into immersive experiences. They provide a web-based video editing tool as well as work for clients such as Disney, NIKE, Universal Studios, and L’OREAL. We were tasked with redesigning parts of WIREWAX.com in order to increase signup conversions and overall user experience as well as design for a shift in user aquisition strategy.

We were able to identify contributing factors leading to user fallout in the signup conversion process and account for these factors in our design by focusing on user flow, communication, information hierarchy, and visual elements.

I became the sole designer for Especially Puglia in late 2017, focusing on understanding what persuades customers to buy artisinal products, and how to best communicate Puglia's offerings. Near the end of 2018, I designed a new look and feel for the entire site, and began to incorpate segments of the site that will scale when the business introduces new services and products. Stay tuned for updates in the near future.

Introducing the farmers

The Set-up

After speaking to customers, we learned one of the more pronounced conversion driving factors were the personal and intimate connection to the product. They wanted to know more where exactly their products were coming from, who was making it, and to be sure the the premium prices they were paying for artisinal products wasn't a bait-and-switch.
